Mobile Defense 1.1.2 released on the Android Market

Many users were downloading Mobile Defense and not completing or even starting the registration process. Several of these individuals actually lost their phone and they quickly contacted us requesting help. Unfortunately, we had to explain that they were not protected because they never successfully activated Mobile Defense on their phone.

In an effort to improve our communications and prevent users from having a false sense of security, we feel it is necessary to routinely inform the user if they are not yet protected. Therefore, in this release we will now examine the phone’s status on boot or every 24hrs (which ever comes first) and alert the user if their device is unprotected.

Mobile Defense 1.0.7 released on the Android Market

This release patches a small bug we introduced in version 1.0.6. The only users that should have been affected were those updating from an old version of Mobile Defense to version 1.0.6. The issue simple forced existing users to re-enter their credentials and reconnect their phone to their account after updating. While in some releases this process might be necessary, it was not in this particular update. To avoid the unnecessary headache we thought it was prudent to release a quick patch.

Mobile Defense 1.0.6 released on the Android Market

This is a much awaited update for users experiencing problems with their phone number not being detected during registration. This issue was caused by a missing or invalid phone number (aka MSISDN) on some users’ SIM cards. This can be confirmed, by navigating to: Settings > About phone > Status then looking at the phone number field. Most likely this value is blank when it should be equal to your current phone number. You can confirm your current phone number by dialing #686# from your Android device.

One way that users can address this issue is to contact T-Mobile and have them update their SIM card over-the-air. While most of our users had success following this route, we felt it hindered the overall user experience. So, in response to user feedback, we have implemented a work-around which will allow affected individuals to manually enter their phone number if we can not automatically detect it from their SIM card.
