Mobile Defense one of the top 50 Android apps according to Androinica
“One of the scariest things for cellphone addicts to experience is the realization that you lost your phone. Mobile Defense comes to the rescue by being “LoJack for your phone,” allowing users to lock, track, find, or erase their phone in the event that it’s lost or stolen. Activate the tracking system online and then see a real-time map of your phone until Android is back in your arms again.”

It sure would be nice to be able to turn on GPS remotely. I don’ t normally keep GPS on because it shortens battery life. But having it off means my phone can’t be pinpointed. Any chance a future release will be able to remotely turn the phone’s GPS on remotely?

@goodwyne This is possible if Mobile Defense is installed as a system app. Contrary to popular belief, enabling the GPS doesn’t actually mean the GPS is consuming any power. GPS will not start looking for signals unless a GPS enabled application is running. http://support.mobiledefense.com/viewtopic.php?id=36
